About your role

We are searching for a talented Cloud Engineer who will play a vital and collaborative role in architecting, building, and maintaining highly scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure for our fast-growing fintech startup. Your mission, through close collaboration with cross-functional teams, will be to ensure the security, performance, and availability of our cloud-based systems. By fostering a collaborative approach and leveraging your expertise in cloud technologies and best practices, you will contribute to our vision of becoming the most inclusive digital bank in LATAM, serving millions of clients and empowering their journey towards financial freedom through technology.

Outcomes

• Design and implement scalable and reliable cloud architectures by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Effectively manage cloud infrastructure resources, ensuring optimal performance, security, and configuration.
• Streamline application deployment through automated pipelines, reducing manual effort and enabling faster releases.
• Proactively monitor and resolve infrastructure issues to minimize downtime and ensure high system availability.
• Implement security best practices and optimize cloud costs for a secure and cost-effective environment.
• Define and implement a comprehensive set of engineering best practices and standards to elevate the performance and quality of the entire engineering team.

Day to day

• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design scalable and highly available cloud architectures.
• Define the walkthrough and toolsets for all engineering teams; as well as the way they need to incorporate them into their day-to-day activities.
• Implementing and managing cloud infrastructure resources (virtual machines, storage, networking, security groups).
• Configuring and maintaining automated deployment pipelines (Github actions, AWS CodePipeline).
• Monitoring and optimizing cloud infrastructure performance.
• Setting up monitoring and alerting systems for proactive issue detection.
• Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure-related issues.
• Automating infrastructure provisioning and management with IaC tools (Pulumi, AWS CloudFormation).
• Conducting security audits and implementing best practices for cloud resource protection.
• Assisting development teams with application deployment and configuration in the cloud.
• Monitoring cloud costs and optimizing resource usage.
• Documenting infrastructure configurations, deployment processes, and troubleshooting guides.

What you bring to the team

• +5 years of experience working with infrastructure.
• Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Experience with IaC methodologies and tools like Pulumi or Terraform.
• Strong understanding of networking concepts in cloud environments.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as PHP, Python, Bash.
• Experience in deploying and managing web servers like Apache or Nginx in the cloud.
• Experience working with and building production-ready REST APIs.
• Intermediate to advanced experience in optimizing and building scalable web services.
• Knowledge of monitoring systems like Prometheus, Grafana, or DataDog.
• Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker.
• Strong knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of version control systems like Git (GitHub).

Nice to have:

• Relevant certifications in cloud technologies
• Knowledge of Scrum/Kanban Agile methodologies.
• Experience working with Atlassian tools like Jira, Confluence and OpsGenie.
• Effective communication skills in English and Spanish.
