Renoon’s proprietary algorithm can process millions of fashion items and assign sustainability attributes to them. As such, Renoon functions as a direct-to-consumer destination and educational tool, as well as B2B company, supporting data-driven decisions and communication that places sustainability at the core. The growing database of brand’s responsibility focuses on bringing transparency in the industry and allows users to be guided, as well as educated, in a new value-based, personalized experience. Founded in February 2020 in Amsterdam, Renoon is backed by industry veterans, like the ex CIO Gucci, ex CTO Y-Nap, ex MD Spotify Southern Europe and is part of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation community. Our team believes the protection of our environment and life on Earth is everyone’s responsibility; the work of smaller groups of scientists and innovators needs a collective and distributed network of people fueling the transformation. Why is Renoon important? Fashion is one of the most polluting industries worldwide, responsible for 10% of humanity's carbon emission. Clothing production has roughly doubled since 2000, one truck of which gets dumped in a landfill every second. If the fashion sector continues on its current trajectory, that share of the carbon budget could jump to 26% by 2050, according to a 2017 report from the Ellen MacArthur Foundation.
